    Threadless: All Guts All Gory

I submitted this as an entry for the threadless' loves Horror II contest.

I started to work on this knowing that I wanted to approach horror in a less traditional way. I decided that text should be my focal point, but wasn't sure how. After a few sketches, I came up with this gut-spilling option. The biggest challenge was getting all of the detail that I wanted while using only 4 colors.

    Wedding Invitations

I am getting married on June twelfth, and wanted to design our invitations. I researched paper and pre-made templates at Michaels and Staples. I began designing, knowing only the wedding colors Jenny and I had chosen. After finishing the original invitation, I decided to add a layer of vellum to give it some depth.

BSA 100 Years of Scouting Patch

This year is the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts in America.

Having worked and volunteered at a BSA summer camp for 7 years, I offered to do any design work that they may need.

The Thunderbird club of Rotary Scout Reservation asked me to create an anniversary patch that had Scouting’s Founder, Lord Baden Powell, as well as Troy New York’s own Uncle Sam. I had to strike a balance when creating Uncle Sam; he needed to be recognizable but not overly cartoonish. I used thick simple lines so that any definition would not be lost in the conversion to a patch.

    Mass Save Drafts

Working as a Freelance designer for the Cadmus Group, I often receive projects that either have a tight deadline or are too large scale for the in-house design team to fit into their schedule. This project was both.

I received the details to create mockups on Monday morning for a PowerPoint presentation on Wednesday. The project was difficult because I did not have MassSave’s branding guide until Tuesday afternoon. Overall I believe the final proposal slides came out well.
